Position Spotlight: Hydrographer
At LADWP, Hydrographers play an important role within the Water System, using their technical skills to record and compile hydrographic and meteorological data that is pertinent to municipal water supply and rights.
Hydrographers conduct their work in a variety of settings, from above ground outside of water tanks and along streams and canals, to below ground in seepage and reservoir vaults. Their work can even take them to high-altitude areas under adverse weather conditions, including snow. Employees in this position get to perform hands-on work in an outdoor setting while contributing as a part of a larger team to help run the largest municipal utility in the nation.
